SUMMER CLEANING

Well the last few times I have been in the youth room, it has not been a pretty sight. There is trash and the ceiling tiles are falling and of course there is the disgusting old stained dirty carpet. I know that we are not responsbile for much of this mess but it is time for us to claim back our space and get it looking good so we can have a place that is ours that is comfortable and clean and we can take some pride in. So who is up for a extreme makeover--youth room edition. In August, I am planning on us not only cleaning out and cleaning up; but also getting some new rugs and new furniture and replacing the ceiling tiles and maybe even painting the walls. And I want the room to be somewhere that you feel like you own so I want your input for this project. How do you want the furniture set up? What color and what design paint do you want? What else would make the youth room more enjoyable for you--a permanent warm fuzzy board, perhaps? Whatever ideas you have (within reason) I am willing to listen to. Give 'em to me.

I think it would be awesome if we painted the walls pink with pink polka dots. The carpet should be yellow. The furniture should be pink as well. Also the warm fuzzy board should be pink. Another idea, could we have a skate ramp in the youth room. that might be a pretty cool idea. well thats all ive got right now. Possibly some more later ill keep thinking. Have a nice day.

well that's a lot of pink. but pink is the new black--or is black the new black now--I can't keep up. anyway, emily has volunteered to lead the painting project and wants ideas from y'all (except maybe less pink)

well if you can convince someone to come in renovate our youth room "while we are out" then I say go for it. But good luck with that. Plus if we do it ourselves it will mean more to us and we will feel a greater sense of ownership and pride--dontcha think? So far we got lotsa pillows and emily painting;;what else y'all got?

emily you haven't had very good luck with kittens in the past so I don't know about pets--maybe a pet bear so whenever it gets in the church we can say "get out of here bear!" seriously, watch out for bears this week, or pumas, or mountain lions.

i think instead of pillows, you should get bean bags, and paint everyone's handprints on the walls with a quote underneath, and do it in like "tye dye" colors, that would rock! haha, oh yea, building 429 tonight WOOOO HOOOO

This sounds like a great idea. We could start by getting rid of the food in there. I ate some cookies one day from the cabinet... I think they were a few years old. Thats all ive got, im not to big on decorating.
