S IS FOR SKI TRIP

So Skiing Sure was Sweet. Snow was Stupendous. Sardines was Short-lived but S'mores were Scruptous. Airhorns Sounded Sort of like Sirens. Watched lots of Sports and Silly Shows. Snap-It Girls Sang Sweetly.

LOVE JOURNEY

Less than one week before we go on our "Love Journey." It should be a good ski trip and it is supposed to be snowing up there Saturday night and Sunday. We'll get on board to start the journey next Friday at 4:00 in the church parking lot. See you there.

NEW YEARS RESOLUTIONS

2006 is here. 2005 was such a ... long year. I'm looking for new opportunities and a new attitude for this year. In 2006, I resolve:

to pray unceasingly
to spend daily alone time with my Lord
to be a better husband and a better father
to get in better shape so I can keep up with all of y'all when we are playing games
to put ideas into action instead of just having them languish as ideas
to get the youth room painted
to get us some t-shirts
to be amazed daily by the world created by my God
to do something amazing daily for the world created by my God

NEW YEAR...NEW TRY

OK so maybe there are a few who are reading it so I will try to keep doing the blog thing. It's a New Year so I'll take a new perspective and look to have some fun with it.

SO LONG, FAREWELL

Well it appears that no one is no longer reading this so this will be the last post from IPUMYF. It's been a blast but now it's time to say goodbye to the blog.

That's how much we have collected so far to donate towards Christmas presents for our adopted family. And $20.00 of that is from one person. This Sunday at the our Christmas party is our last opportunity to make donations. Please remember as we spend and spend what a big difference to another family we can make if we save some instead and use it towards their Christmas.

Christmas Mission

As we all rush around decorating and shopping and going to parties and doing everything else to get ready for Christmas, it is important to remember those whose needs are greater than ours. The church has adopted a local family with eight children (including several teenage children) who are in need of Christmas presents and various church families are signing up to buy presents for this family. I thought this would be a wonderful way for us to serve and show our faith through action. We will be collecting money donations this Sunday at youth group and next Sunday December 18 at our Christmas party and I can then go shopping for gifts (y'all can certainly help me shop if you want to). We are so blessed and have so much and spend our money so often on ourselves. But now I ask that you be selfless and generous in assisting this family at Christmas.
