AMAZING RACE: IPUMC EDITION

This Sunday we will be playing a game based on the reality show, The Amazing Race. If you haven't seen it before, it comes on CBS on Tuesdays at 9:00 p.m. But don't worry if you haven't ever seen it--you won't really need to know anything about it to play the game. It should be fun but it will take awhile so make sure you get there on time so we can eat and get to the Amazing Race. Oh yeah and we also have a special surprise guest on Sunday but most everybody already knows who it is. Have a good week and stay dry and warm. Be transformed, not conformed.

A GOOD DAY

There is a Chris Tomlin song that I like called "The Way I Was Made" from his album Indescribable and the chorus describes to me a way to spend a good day--a day spent that I could be proud of what I accomplished. Here's the chorus--what do you think:

I want to live like there's no tomorrow
I want to dance like no one's around
I want to sing like nobody's listening
Before I lay my body down
I want to give like I have plenty
I want to love like I'm not afraid
I want to be the man I was meant to be
I want to be the way I was made

ICE ICE BABY

We have reservations to go ice skating at Greensboro Ice House on Sunday December 4. They are only open on Sundays from 1:00 to 3:30 on Sundays so we will plan on going after church that day. Maybe we can eat lunch at church before we leave. We only get the group discount if we bring at least 15 people so plan on bringing yourself and bringing your friends. Cost is $5.00 and includes admission and skate rental. We'll talk more about it this Sunday at youth group. It will be cool. Actually it will be cold--get it--cold! BRRRRRRRRR!!!

Halloween Pictures

We had prom queens and desperate housewives and tinkerbells and elmos and pumpkins and robots and witches and Q-tips and lady bugs and red-flannel wearing monsters and deviled food products

A STUFFED GIRAFFE?

OK it's been awhile since I've posted and I get the sense no one is reading this anymore so I've got a little contest for you to see if anyone is reading it. I've got a question for you: what is the strangest item in your car (or if you don't have a car, your parent's car or brother or sister's car)? Post your answer in the comments section and I will award the strangest answer a prize in the near future.

My answer for the strangest thing in my car: a stuffed giraffe
